Stage Rights is dedicated to amplifying new voices in the American theater landscape.
The STAGE RIGHTS NEW VOICES project features inspiring new voices in American playwriting, celebrating the richness of America’s cultural fabric by highlighting diverse and inclusive stories and the writers who bring these stories to the stage.
Complimentary rehearsal scripts await all producers who produce a NEW VOICES selection during the upcoming 2021-22 season.
In the hands of great playwrights, the 10-minute play is a highly entertaining dramatic form.
The Red Bull Theater's Short New Play Festival features short plays of heightened language and classical themes—some downright silly, and others powerfully moving—by today’s hottest writers, including commissions by established playwrights such as John Guare, David Ives, Regina Taylor, and Anne Washburn, and winning entries by writers such as Mike Anderson, Sam Lahne, Lynn Rosen, and Jen Silverman.
This collection of plays by Jon Jory, American theatre legend and founder of the Humana Festival of New Plays, focuses on work to be performed by high schools and colleges. Three plays (Halibut High, Highlife, and Superhero Town) may either be performed as full-length plays or separated into one-acts for competition purposes, each act its own separate short play.
Stage Rights is proud to offer a new collection of short plays that are designed for virtual performances. Some were created to be performed virtually on Zoom (or another platform of your choice). The plays from the Red Bull Shorts Collection are 10-minute plays originally written for the stage but translate beautifully into a virtual setting. Perform and stream live or get creative and pre-record and edit into a full-on production with all the bells and whistles. Live or taped, these virtual shows can help you stay connected with your audience and provide some much-needed entertainment for all of us during this crazy time.
