Supergirl and The Flash aren’t the only television series getting into the musical mindset this week. The March 22 episode of SyFy’s The Magicians featured three of its regular cast members singing “One Day More” from the landmark Les Misérables, words unchanged.

Based on the novels by Lev Grossman, The Magicians follows the students of Brakebills University, a secret school for magic. Magicians showrunner John McNamara became friends with Stephen Sondheim at 19, and has always been a musical theatre aficionado. Apparently, the song moves Eliot, played by Hale Appleman, from “fear to bravery,” McNamara told Vanity Fair.
