The award-winning star plans a Birdland fundraiser to battle the stigma of mental illness.
Glenn Close will use her Monday night off from Sunset Boulevard May 22 to perform a special concert of great songs from movie classics, titled Vintage Hollywood, at Birdland nightclub in Manhattan.
The 9:30 PM concert, which will also feature other members of her Sunset Boulevard cast, will benefit Bring Change 2 Mind, a charity started by Close’s family that “works to end the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental illness.”
Vintage Hollywood, which is being presented as part of the club’s “Broadway at Birdland” concert series, will have musical direction by Michael Patrick Walker. The playlist is still being finalized.
