Now Accepting Submissions for the 2018 SETC/Stage Rights Ready to Publish Award
Stage Rights, in partnership with the Southeastern Theatre Conference is proud to announce the opening of submissions for the 2018 SETC/Stage Rights Ready to Publish Award. All entrants are able to submit up to two projects (full-length, unproduced, completed plays or musicals) by filling out a submission form available on the competition information page here.
Submissions are due by January 8, 2018. Semi-finalists must register for the 2018 Conference where an interview and pitch process will take place. The winner will be chosen on April 9, 2018 and will receive mentoring by the Stage Rights team, publishing and licensing of the winning play or musical, registration fees for the 2019 Conference, and a $300 advance to pay for Conference expenses.
The 2016 Ready to Publish Award winner was Laura King, with her nursing home comedy Independence Day at Happy Meadows. It’s the Fourth of July and the women of Happy Meadows are longing for independence. When Holly receives a cry for help from her grandson, she rallies her comrades in arms, and the women plot a break out that goes hilariously awry.
