Children of a Lesser God, the 1980 drama about the relationship between a deaf cleaning woman and a hearing teacher, will be revived on Broadway next spring, the producers announced on Tuesday.

The long-in-the-making revival, which was first publicly discussed in 2014, was staged this summer by the Berkshire Theater Group. Jesse Green, a New York Times critic, said then that “even as the play’s sexual politics rankle, its deaf politics remain thrilling.”
The Broadway production, like the one in the Berkshires, will star Joshua Jackson (best known for television roles in shows including Dawson’s Creek and The Affair), whom Mr. Green called “a revelation,” and Lauren Ridloff, a former Miss Deaf America, whom Mr. Green called “a sensational find.” Both will be making their Broadway debuts.
