Paula Vogel Offers Advice to Young Playwrights In New Video

In a new video from the Dramatists Guild Fund, the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright shares insights and advice with aspiring artists.

How I Learned to Drive playwright Paula Vogel traveled to the Minneapolis Playwrights’ Center in recent weeks as part of the Dramatists Guild Fund’s Traveling Masters Program. 

The two-day visit offered writing development opportunities between Vogel and local playwrights, as well as a public symposium in which Vogel shared her personal thoughts on collaboration, theatre, insights on the writing process and the art of playwriting.

In the video, Vogel discusses trends she is observing for women writers, writers of color and transgender playwrights. The Pulitzer-winning playwright also takes time out to share why she no longer watches The Academy Awards and her hopes for diverse representation across multiple arts disciplines. Read more...
