Beginning with doo-wop groups like The Drifters and The Platters, Unchained Melodies celebrates the swingin’ harmonies of the ‘50s and ‘60s, featuring songs like “Blue Moon,” “16 Candles,” “Save The Last Dance,” and “Working My Way Back To You.”
Characters:
Man 1: Tenor 2, a New Jersey boy from the neighborhood.
Man 2: Baritone, a doo-wop encyclopedia.
Man 3: Bass, silly and fun loving.
Man 4: High tenor with a voice like an angel.
Casting Note: These performers are four friends. They should be played with a lightness and playfulness. Feel free to make script edits based on your cast, as well. While a racially diverse cast is ideal, if you are unable to cast it as so, you can edit the lines to reflect the upbringing of each performer.
Setting: A cabaret or lounge space.
