Characters:

Betty – A single lady in her early thirties who is running from a past she doesn’t remember. Mother to Suzie.

Suzie – Almost eight years old. Experiencing odd growth spurts (of things like extra arms – eight of them to be exact.) A She-rantula.

*Flora Fairchild – Mid-forties. Landlady of the apartment building wherein Betty resides. Wife to Fred.

*Gladys Goforth – Mid-thirties. Avon lady and ersatz Bible study-group leader.

*Daisy Mcdougal – Early fifties. Has drowned her sorrows with booze. She has lost both her brother and her lover.

*Maria – Early thirties. Betty’s maid/housekeeper. She is of Mexican descent.

*Roberta Rickenbocker – Mid-fifties. Suzie’s second grade school teacher. Fond of baked goods.

*Louella Lovejoy – Early sixties. Lives across the street from the building in which Betty resides. President of the Lutheran Ladies’ League

#Fred Fairchild – Late forties. Husband to Flora. President of the men’s club: The Tarrytown Tarantulas. Professor of etymology at the Tarrytown Polytechnic.

#Freida – A gal who’s handy with her hands. Runs a yard-care business.

+Harry – Late twenties. Handyman in the building that Fred and Flora own. Rough, plain spoken. Ruggedly handsome.

+Harriet – Late twenties. A bombshell of the Jayne Mansfield variety. Looks great in a twin set.
