Characters:

General: Singer/Performer/Actors with exceptional pop/stage singing voices, i.e., not legit though it is not necessary to have a country sound. Charisma and the ability to communicate with an audience in a concert-style setting are key. There is no fourth wall. Comic ability helps. Must move well. Performers of all ethnic backgrounds are encouraged.

Specific Roles: (Flexible. You may add performers. Ages may vary as well.)

Baritone (BARI): Singer/Performer/Actor. Age 40-55. The seasoned, old-soul performer. Pop Baritone voice. Bottom note: strong F. Top note (full voice): F. Falsetto above. Must move well.

Tenor (TEN): Singer/Performer/Actor. Age: 18-25. Top note (full voice): G#. Needs strong falsetto. An enthusiastic, energetic, happy-go-lucky and ever-hopeful young dude pop singer. Must move well.

Female (FEM): Singer/Performer/Actor. Age: 18-25. High Alto/Second Soprano with a warm, strong pop belt voice and great mix above. Bottom note: strong F. Top belt note: B. Strong mix to F#. Blossoming thrush with swagger. Must move well.

 

Setting: A concert house

Rick Seeber conceived 8-Track: The Sounds of the 70's which has enjoyed numerous extended runs including at the Ordway Center, St. Paul, the Hermosa Beach Playhouse, the Downtown Cabaret Theatre, Bridgeport, CT, Pittsburgh CLO, Capital Rep Albany, NY, the Derby Dinner Playhouse, Louisville, KY, Arundel Barn Playhouse, Maine and the Plaza Theatre, Florida, among many others. Mr. Seeber’s newest jukebox hit, Country Is: The Music of Main Street, celebrates the traditional themes at the heart of country music. Rick is a nationally-known producer and director whose presentations include The Singular Dorothy Parker on Off Broadway, Beehive, The 60's Musical in more than a hundred cities including at the Luxor Hotel Las Vegas, Harrahs Atlantic City, the Gem Theatre Detroit, Theatre Under The Stars Houston and Stagewest, Toronto. He produced and directed A Brief History of White Music in cities as diverse as Aspen, CO, Billings, MT and Springfield, MA.

COUNTRY IS two hours of singin’, hootin’ and hollerin’ featuring the timeless, hard-lived truths of Hank and Johnny, Tammy and Patsy, the deep country soul of George Strait, Alan Jackson and Alabama, the stirring anthems of Dolly, Garth and Willie, the spirited good times of Brooks & Dunn, the Zac Brown Band, Brad Paisley and John Denver, the heartfelt honesty of Tim McGraw and Miranda Lambert, and the homespun harmonies of The Judds, Alison Krauss and Sugarland.

 

COUNTRY IS celebrating the traditional themes at the heart of the American main street.
